Welcome to the ABP News Gujarat Local Body Poll Results HIGHLIGHTS: The Counting of votes for 8,474 seats across 81 municipalities, 31 district panchayats and 231 taluka panchayats in Gujarat started at 9 am on Tuesday. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has clinched a massive victory in local body polls held over the last few weeks in Gujarat.

Results Declared for 1349 out of 4774 seats for 231 Taluka Panchayats. The Bharatiya Janata Party has won 962 seats, Congress 359, AAP 21 and BSP 3.
Out of 31 districts, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has won 4 seats with maintaining its lead in maximum of the seats. The rivalry Congress on the other hand has won 2 seats so far.
The counting of votes in underway. As per the latest trends, BJP is leading in 73 out of 231 taluka panchayats, Congress in 11 and others in 3. Out of 31 district panchayats, BJP leading in 28. In 81 municipalities BJP leading in 60, Congress in 6 and others in 1.
Prime Minister Modi is set to woo the people of Bengal as he will address 20 rallies ahead of elections.
Bengal unit had requested the central team to allow holding two rallies in big districts and one in every small district.
There were demands of 25 to 30 rallies of Prime Minister Modi. But at present, the outline of 20 rallies has been decided in Bengal. He will also address 6 rallies in Assam.
Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda will address about 50 election rallies in Bengal.
The venue and date of the rallies is yet to be decided.

Father of a girl was shot dead by a group of men for lodging police complaint against them for harassing and troubling his daughter. The incident reportedly happened in the Naujarpur village of Sasni Police Station area of Hathras on Monday evening.

Gujarat Local Body Poll Results HIGHLIGHTS: The Counting of votes for 8,474 seats across 81 municipalities, 31 district panchayats and 231 taluka panchayats in Gujarat started at 9 am on Tuesday. There are a total of 8,474 seats of which, candidates on 237 seats remain unopposed, and no form was filled for two seats in taluka panchayat. Hence, elections were held on 8,235 seats.
The State Election Commission (SEC) asserted that an average of around 64% polling was recorded in the local body elections that were held on Sunday (February 28).
Last week, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party registered massive victory across the municipal corporations of Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar. The saffron party had won 483 of 576 seats, AAP won 27 in Surat while Congress put up a disappoint show overall.
