Two people have been killed in a storm while at least 50 were injured in West Bengal's Cooch Behar district on Sunday. The deaths have been reported from Moamari Gram Panchayat, Block No 1, Cooch Behar.
"Two dead and at least 50 injured in a storm in Moamari Gram Panchayat, Block No 1 of Cooch Behar district," Chairman of Cooch Behar Municipality Rabindra Nath Ghosh said. Several other areas including Tufanganj, Mathabhanga of the district have also been, Ghosh further added.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai sounded the poll bugle for the 2023 Assembly elections on Sunday and said that the party will seek a positive mandate from farmers, women and weaker sections for the good governance provided by the state government.
Addressing the convention Bommai called Vijayanagar a holy land and said the BJP has declared a democratic war based on the principles of justice and positive democratic values.

A massive storm accompanied by heavy rain and hail damaged over 200 houses, including a church building in Mizoram's Kolasib and Mamit districts, an official said on Sunday.
No fatalities have so far been reported in the storm that hit the two districts late on Saturday, he said.
According to a preliminary report, at least 220 houses and the church building were damaged in Kolasib district, and about 18 houses in Mamit district near the Assam border, the official said.
Kolasib Assembly constituency MLA and Supply Minister K Lalrinliana on Sunday visited the villages affected by the storm to take stock of the situation.
The minister assured of assistance from the state government.

PM Narendra Modi’s 3-Day Visit To Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s three-day visit to his home state Gujarat is scheduled to begin on Monday. This is Modi’s second visit to the poll-bound state after the BJP’s major win in four out of five state assembly elections recently.
During his visit to Gujarat, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (GCTM) in Jamnagar.
Delhi Records More Than 500 Covid-19 Cases
The national capital recorded 517 fresh covid-19 cases on Sunday which is 56 more than the previous day. The positivity rate reached 4.21 percent with no fatalities so far.
Delhi has been witnessing an upward trend in the covid-19 cases for the last few days. However, the positivity rate reduced to 4.21 percent from 5.33 percent a day earlier.
Jahangirpuri Clash: Rohini Court Sends 2 Prime Accused To 1-Day Police Custody
The Rohini Court has sent two prime accused in the Jahangirpuri clash to one-day police custody, reported news agency ANI. The two prime accused have been identified as Ansar and Aslam.
The Delhi police presented 14 of the accused in Rohini court on Sunday. 12 of those presented have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days by the court, Advocate Vikas Verma told ANI.
The incident took place on Saturday as a mob pelted stones at a procession on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti which led to clashes between two groups. The clashes left eight policemen and one other person injured on Saturday evening.
Delhi Auto & Cab Drivers' Strike
Commuters in Delhi may experience difficulties since numerous unions of the auto, taxi, and minibus drivers have announced to go on strike on Monday, news agency PTI reported.
Unions have been calling for fee increases and a reduction in CNG pricing. While other unions have declared a one-day strike, the Sarvodaya Driver Association Delhi, which has members who work for cab aggregators, has declared an "indefinite" strike beginning Monday.
