The Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to suspended Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police, Saurabh Tripathi in connection with Angadia extortion case, reported news agency ANI. Court allowed him the anticipatory bail after government pleader told the court that he is cooperating in the investigation.
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday released its list of candidates from bypolls to Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha seats, reported news agency ANI. Byelection is slated to take place for Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat and Khatauli and Rampur Assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh, Sardarshahar Assembly seat in Rajasthan, Kurhani Vidhan Sabha seat in Bihar and Bhanupratappur Assembly seat in Chhattisgarh.
Raghuraj Singh Shakya from BJP has been fielded against Samajwadi Party's Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat.
The Enforcement Directorate rejected Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's request to reschedule questioning in illegal mining case, reported news agency ANI. The Chief Minister had requested to set the date for questioning on November 16 instead of November 17, which was earlier fixed in the agency's second summon, the report added.
A fire broke out in in the basement of a footwear showroom in Mumbai's Chembur area on Tuesday, reported news agency PTI. Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot along with other fire-figting equipment and the blaze was doused by 3.30 am on Tuesday, a fire brigade official said.No one was injured in the blaze which erupted at around 10.45 pm on Monday in the basement at Shivashish Complex in suburban Chembur, he said.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday evening found two improvised explosive devices (IED) in a suspicious black bacpack lying near Phallian Mandal police post under Satwari PS in Jammu. The explosives were later defused by the police, they said, reported news agency ANI.

President Droupadi Murmu In Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand On Tuesday
President Droupadi Murmu will visit Jharkhand on Tuesday to pay tributes to revered tribal leader Birsa Munda, a statement by the Rashtrapati Bhavan said. She will visit Ulihatu village, the birth place of Birsa Munda, the statement issued on Monday said.
On the same day, she will address a 'Janjatiya Samagam' at Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh organised by the state government to mark 'Janjatiya Gaurav Divas'.
In the evening on Tuesday, President Murmu will attend a civic reception to be hosted in her honour at the Raj Bhawan in the state capital Bhopal and virtually lay foundation stones for projects of Union ministries of Defence, Road Transport and Highways, an official said.
Under the Ministry of Defence, the President, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, will lay the foundation stone of Maximum Microbial Containment Laboratory (BSL-4) at Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE), Gwalior, he said.
She will also lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of Ratapani-Obeidullaganj-Itarsi section of the National Highway 46, a project being helmed by the Union ministry of road transport and highways, the official said.
Murmu will also address a conference of women's self-help groups (SHGs) in Bhopal on Wednesday before returning to New Delhi.
Gujarat HC likely to hear suo motu PIL on Morbi bridge collapse tragedy
The Gujarat High Court is likely to hear the suo motu PIL on the Morbi bridge tragedy on Tuesday. A division bench of Chief Justice Aravind Kumar and Justice Ashutosh Shastri had issued notices to the state government and the state human rights commission on November 7 on the October 30 tragedy and sought a status report from the government.
As per the High Court's website, November 15 is the next listing date for the case. The collapse of the British-era suspension bridge on the Machchhu river in Morbi on October 30 claimed 135 lives including women and children.
The HC said on November 7 that it had taken suo motu (on its own) cognisance of a news report on the bridge collapse tragedy and registered it as a PIL (Public Interest Litigation).
Molestation Case Against NCP MLA Awhad: Court To Hear Anticipatory Bail Plea
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA and former Maharashtra minister Jitendra Awhad on Monday filed an application seeking pre-arrest bail in the molestation case before a court in Thane, PTI reported.
Additional sessions court judge PM Gupta has kept the matter for hearing on Tuesday morning, an official said.
The court has directed the Thane city police not to arrest Awhad till his pre-arrest bail application is heard and disposed of.
