FIFA World Cup 2022 Kicks Off Today


FIFA World Cup football tournament is starting today in Qatar. The hosts, Qatar, will face Ecuador in the opening match. Thirty-two teams in the tournament are divided into eight groups. Sixty-four matches will be played in the 28-day tournament. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout rounds. The final match will be played on December 18. These matches will be played in eight stadiums in Qatar.
Opening match will also be telecast live on the social media platform Twitter. The match will start at 1200 IST at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor City. Tesla CEO Elon Musk sent a tweet late last night inviting people to watch the first World Cup match live on Twitter. Musk also promised the best coverage and real-time commentary.
This is the first-ever World Cup being held in the Middle East and the second in Asia after Japan and South Korea jointly hosted the 2002 tournament.


PM Modi To Hold Poll Rallies In Gujarat’s Saurashtra


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold rallies in Gujarat's Saurashtra for three consecutive days from November 20-22 ahead of the Assembly elections next month. More than 1.5 lakh people are expected to attend these rallies, as per a report by news agency ANI. The Prime Minister will conduct three rallies in Saurashtra on November 20, two in South Gujarat and Saurashtra on November 21 and two in Saurashtra on November 22.


Out of the 182 assembly seats in the state, 48 are in this region, where polling is to be held in the first phase itself on December 1.


Voting for 182 seats for the assembly election will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. The results of the Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat Assembly elections will be declared on December 8.
