Total of 50 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been earmarked for West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh out of which 22 teams are deployed on the ground while 28 self-contained teams are on alert within the states to tackle the situation as Super Cyclone storm ‘ASANI’ is approaching north Andhra Pradesh coast of the country. As per IMD, it is likely to move towards northwest Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh, Odisha Coasts and to weaken gradually into a cyclone storm during next 24 hours.
Out of 22 deployed teams, 12 teams have been deployed at the coastal districts of West Bengal, 09 teams have been deployed in state of Andhra Pradesh. Besides, 01 team is deployed at Balasore district Of Odisha.
Since the issuance of early warning from IMD, NDRF personnel are conducting awareness drives about do’s and don’ts during cyclone and persuading people living on the coast line to shift to safer place/cyclone shelters.
HQ NDRF is closely monitoring developments and all efforts are being taken to ensure zero casualty and minimum damage to life and property.
The CBI on Tuesday searched eight locations in Jammu, Srinagar and Mumbai, including premises of then J&K Bank chairman Haseeb Drabu, in connection with alleged irregularities in purchase of a building by the bank for its integrated office in Mumbai in 2010, officials said.

After the anti-encroachment drive in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh came to a halt on Monday after protests from local residents and AAP leaders, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) will carry out a similar drive in South Delhi's New Friends Colony from 11 am today.
"The municipal corporation has a roadmap ready for the next 15 days. Bulldozers will run in New Friends Colony tomorrow from 11 am. Encroachment will be removed from Delhi without making any distinction between poor and rich," confirmed Rajpal Singh, Chairman, Central Zone, SDMC to news agency ANI.

Anti-Encroachment Drive To Continue In South Delhi On May 10
After the anti-encroachment drive in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh neighbourhood was suspended, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) said on Monday that it will resume the procedure tomorrow in New Friends Colony.
"Bulldozers of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will be running tomorrow as well. Illegal encroachments will be removed in New Friends Colony from 11am tomorrow," said Rajpal, Chairman standing committee, SDMC central zone.
Rahul Gandhi Will Address Tribal Convention In Gujarat On May 10
Rahul Gandhi, the senior Congress leader, will attend a tribal convention on May 10 at the Navjivan Arts and Commerce College venue in Gujarat's Dahod, according to party sources.
According to state Congress unit leaders, Gandhi will be in Dahod as part of a day-long visit to Gujarat and will address the convention at 10 a.m. as part of a 'Adivasi Satyagrah' rally ahead of the state's 2022 Assembly elections.
