India To Invite Top Leaders Of Neighbouring Countries To Modi's Swearing-In Ceremony
India is expected to invite leaders from several neighboring countries, including Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony over the weekend, according to sources on Wednesday.
Modi is poised to begin his historic third consecutive term as prime minister, following the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) securing 293 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
As per the PTI report, sources indicated that prominent leaders from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, and Mauritius are likely to be among the foreign dignitaries invited to Modi's inauguration.
The media office of Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe confirmed that Modi extended an invitation to him, which Wickremesinghe accepted. Wickremesinghe also congratulated Modi on his electoral victory during a phone call.
Exhibition To Mark 350th Anniversary Of Coronation Of Shivaji To Open In Delhi On Thursday
A special exhibition to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the coronation of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji will open at the National Gallery of Modern Art on Thursday.
The exhibition will feature a series of paintings illustrating the life and legacy of this iconic figure.
“To honor and celebrate the 350th anniversary of the grand coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a pivotal event in our nation's history, an exhibition titled 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj: Celebration of the 350th Anniversary of the Great Coronation' will be presented at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Jaipur House, New Delhi on June 6," stated the Culture Ministry, PTI reported.
Union Culture Secretary Govind Mohan will inaugurate the exhibition on Thursday evening.
These impressive and often captivating canvases are from the collection of Deepak Gore, whose passion was ignited during a 1996 visit to the museums of London and Paris and who has years of experience managing artist Jehangir Vazifdar's gallery, the statement added.
