Gujarat BJP To Adopt Resolution On Modi's 3rd Term During Executive Meeting On July 4-5
BJP party leaders told news agency PTI that a two-day executive meeting will begin on July 4 in Botad district. The agenda of the meeting includes adopting a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for assuming office for a third time and discussion on organisational matters in the backdrop of the recent Lok Sabha polls.
There are reports that there will be a change of guard at the top of the Gujarat BJP after state unit president C R Paatil was inducted in the Union cabinet last month.
Paatil's successor is expected to be announced at the conclave in Sarangpur in Botad, which will witness participation from around 1,300 BJP office-bearers.
The party leaders also stated that state BJP president Paatil, the Lok Sabha MP from Navsari, and central leaders will attend the gathering.
"We have organised our state executive meeting in Sarangpur BAPS temple premises on July 4 and 5. The meeting will be held under our state president C R Paatil and national leadership will be present at the conclave," state BJP general secretary Rajni Patel told reporters.
However, he did not tell which central leaders will attend the gathering tomorrow.
Schools To Remain Closed Till Thursday As Parts Of Manipur Flooded After Heavy Rain
As incessant rainfall lashed Manipur’s Imphal West and Imphal East districts, several places were flooded and two major rivers breached embankments, officials told news agency PTI on Wednesday.
"The state government has declared a holiday for all government offices on Wednesday, while schools will remain closed till Thursday in view of the flood situation," they said.
The Imphal river breached its embankment at Singjamei Oinam Thingel in Imphal West, and the Kongba river at Kongba Irong and parts of Keirao in Imphal East.
"The Iril river also overflowed at Sawombung and parts of Ksheteigao in Imphal East.Huge volumes of river water entered residential localities… Over a 3-km stretch of the India-Myanmar road has also been flooded and more than 1,000 people were affected,” he said.Relief and rescue operations are underway for the affected people," PTI quoted the official as saying.
