ICG ships and aircraft are still responding to the emergency on MV Maersk Frankfurt. A four-member salvage team, including chemical experts, has successfully boarded the vessel. The firefighting efforts by ICG ships and aircraft have managed to suppress the fire, but it continues to flare up intermittently. Currently, thick smoke is emanating from the source of the fire on the merchant vessel, according to ANI.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Gurugram arrested, MLA from Sonipat, Surender Panwar, on July 20, 2024, in connection with an illegal mining case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. Panwar was presented before the Special Court (PMLA) in Ambala, Haryana, which granted the ED custody for 9 days.

General public is alerted that they will do the following: 1.) first, they will not forward it in any manner to anyone 2.) second, they will report by a message as to who have they received this propaganda video from. Mention the telephone number and the date and time of the receipt of the video. 3.) police officers shall report it to their supervisory officer and civil officers should equally report it to their supervisory officers by way of a text message. Under no circumstances, this video shall be forwarded. It should be remembered that position and forwarding of the content of this nature is an offence under section 13 and 18 of UAPA," J&K Police released a post on its social media handle X.

Delhi Police Issues Traffic Advisory Ahead Of Kanwar Yatra From Monday 


The Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory on Sunday, alerting the public about the extensive arrangements for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra and warning of potential congestion at various locations, according to PTI.


The Kanwar Yatra will begin on the first day of Sawan (Shravan) on Monday and will end on August 2, with holy Ganga water being offered to Lord Shiva.


A significant number of Kanwariyas are expected to arrive in Delhi, with some continuing on to Haryana and Rajasthan via Delhi borders. This year, the anticipated number of participants is around 15-20 lakh, according to the advisory.


Parliament's Monsoon Session Begins Monday, Sitharaman To Present Union Budget On Jul 23 


Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget on Tuesday, as the Monsoon Session of Parliament begins next week. The session, starting on Monday, will run for 19 sittings until August 12. The united opposition plans to challenge the NDA government on issues such as the NEET paper leak case and railway safety.


The government aims to introduce six bills during this session, including a bill to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act and seek approval for the budget of Jammu and Kashmir, which is currently under central rule. Additionally, Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey in Parliament on Monday.


According to PTI, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has scheduled a meeting with the floor leaders of political parties to discuss the issues they want to address during the session. The BJD, led by former Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik, has announced that it will act as a strong opposition, vigorously raising state-related issues in Parliament.
