JP Nadda To Attend Odisha BJP’s Executive Panel Meeting On Friday
The Odisha BJP will convene its first executive committee meeting in Puri starting July 19, after the formation of its government in the state. The party's national president, J P Nadda, will be also attending the meeting, a party functionary announced on Tuesday.
Initially, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was scheduled to join the two-day meeting but will be unable to attend due to health issues stated Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal.
“Earlier, Rajnath Singh was scheduled to attend the two-day executive committee meeting. However, BJP president JP Nadda will attend the event starting on July 19, owing to Singh’s unavailability due to health issues,” he said, PTI reported.
BJP's state vice president Biranchi Tripathy mentioned that coordinators for assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies, district presidents, officials from various fronts, the chief minister, state ministers, all party MLAs and MPs, and union ministers from the state will be present at the meeting.
Misri Travels To Bhutan On Friday On His First Trip Abroad As Foreign Secretary
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is scheduled to pay a two-day visit to Bhutan on Friday, on his first trip abroad after assuming charge of the top post.
Misri is likely to meet Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Foreign Minister DN Dhungyel, and Foreign Secretary Pema Choden among others in the Bhutanese capital Thimphu, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said while announcing the visit, PTI reported.
The foreign secretary's visit underscores the "highest priority" the government of India attaches to its 'Neighbourhood First' policy, it said. Misri will also receive an audience with Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, according to the MEA.
Misri and Choden are expected to conduct a thorough assessment of the bilateral relations during their discussions, including matters pertaining to shared security interests.
