Officials reported that 3 gangsters, including the shooters responsible for a murder at a Burger King outlet in West Delhi, were killed in a police encounter in Sonipat.
In a joint operation, the Delhi Police Crime Branch and Haryana STF killed three criminals during an encounter in Haryana. The criminals were members of the Himanshu Bhau Gang. The incident occurred in the Sonipat District, according to the Delhi Police Crime Branch.

The CBI's case was against an individual named N Gangadhar Appa, who has been arrested in Bengaluru in connection with a case related to Latur which is in Maharashtra.

Radical Sikh preacher and Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh's brother Harpreet Singh has been apprehended by Jalandhar police in a drug case, news agency PTI reported on Friday, citing a senior police official. Harpreet Singh was nabbed along with another accomplice, identified as Lovepreet Singh alias Luv, by Jalandhar Rural Police on Thursday evening, the official said.
Four grams of ICE (methamphetamine) drug was recovered from him during checking of the car in which the duo was travelling, he stated. The official said that Harpreet Singh is aged between 30-35 and "was into some dispatching work in transport". Both Harpreet Singh and Lovepreet Singh hail from Amritsar, he added.
On Supreme Court granting interim bail to CM Arvind Kejriwal, CM Kejriwal's lawyer Rishikesh Kumar says, "The Supreme Court has granted him interim bail and the issue of section 19 and necessity of arrest has been referred to a larger bench. CM Kejriwal will remain in custody as his bail in the CBI case is still pending. This is a big victory..."

Three youth have been arrested on Thursday for forcing a Dalit minor to drink urine two days ago in Uttar Pradesh's Shravasti district, the police said, as reported by news agency PTI. The victim, who is 15 years old, works as a technician, setting sound mixers and audio systems at social and cultural events.
He was on his way home after work on Tuesday night when he was accosted by Kishan Tiwari, Dilip Mishra and Satyam Tiwari, who were in an inebriated state. According to the police, Dilip Mishra urinated in a liquor bottle, while Satyam and Kishan pinned the boy down and forced the bottle into his mouth.
Nineteen brokers/middlemen were caught and sent to jail in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur, following a surprise inspection at the regional transport office and tehsil office on Thursday, a government spokesman said.
"Monitoring of all government offices in every district is being done. The Chief Minister has said that direct action will be taken against middlemen if found in government offices," a government spokesman added, as quoted by news agency IANS.

A landslide swept two buses carrying an estimated 63 passengers, on Madan-Ashrit Highway in Central Nepal into the Trishuli River, this morning.
“As per the preliminary information both the buses were carrying a total of 63 people including the bus drivers. The landslide swept the buses at around 3:30 am. We are at the incident site and a search operation is underway. Incessant rain is hampering our efforts to search for the missing buses,” Indradev Yadav, Chief District Officer, Chitwan confirmed to ANI.
Around 40 people were hospitalised when a bus was caught in an accident in Labukele, Nuwara-Eliya, central Sri Lanka, at around 5 a.m., the police said.
The bus was on its way to Trincomalee, a popular tourist destination on the eastern coast, from Nuwara-Eliya. The accident occurred due to a sudden brake failure when the bus was navigating a mountainous area, the police added on Thursday as reported by Xinhua news agency.
Those who have sustained injuries were admitted to the Nuwara-Eliya District Hospital, according to the police.
Official data showed 2,557 people were killed in 2,200 fatal road accidents reported in the South Asian country in 2023.

MUDA ''Scam'': BJP To Hold 'Mega' Protest In Home District Of CM On July 12, Demands His Resignation
The Karnataka BJP plans to stage a large-scale protest in Mysuru on July 12 over allegations of fraudulent site allotments by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), which reportedly include plots allocated to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi. BJP President B Y Vijayendra announced this on Wednesday, calling for the CM's resignation.
As per the PTI report, the protest aims to demand the withdrawal of illegally distributed sites meant for land losers and advocate for a CBI investigation into the alleged scam implicating the Chief Minister and his family. Vijayendra added that the BJP intends to address this issue in the upcoming Assembly session.
According to reports, Parvathi received compensatory sites in a prime area of Mysuru under MUDA's 50:50 ratio scheme, in exchange for 3.16 acres of her land where MUDA developed a residential layout.
Excise Case: SC To Deliver On Friday Verdict On Kejriwal's Plea Challenging Arrest By ED
The Supreme Court is set to deliver its verdict on Friday regarding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's appeal against his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam.
According to PTI, the cause list for July 12 is available on the apex court's website, a bench led by Justice Sanjiv Khanna will announce the decision. The bench, which also includes Justice Dipankar Datta, had reserved its judgment on Kejriwal's plea on May 17.
Previously, on April 15, the Supreme Court had asked the ED to respond to Kejriwal’s plea challenging his arrest in the money laundering investigation. Kejriwal is contesting the Delhi High Court's April 9 order, which had upheld his arrest.
