Saffron Tsunami Hits Odisha Elections: Himanta
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared on Tuesday that Odisha has been swept by a saffron "tsunami," expressing confidence that the BJP will form the next government in the state.
Odisha holds its Lok Sabha and assembly elections simultaneously.
Sarma, who has been campaigning in Odisha recently, stated, “During my first election meeting in Odisha, I noticed a small wave of support for the BJP. But today, in Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, and Jagatsinghpur, I witnessed a tsunami of support for the BJP.
"I experienced something similar in Chhattisgarh, where an initial small wave transformed into a tsunami by the end of the election," Sarma added, PTI reported.
He emphasised that the people of Odisha, known for their long history of self-respect and pride, would never submit to V K Pandian, a close aide of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and a bureaucrat-turned-BJD leader.
