CDS General Anil Chauhan Embarks On Visit To France To Bolster Defence Ties

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan, has embarked on an official trip to France to strengthen defence relations between the two countries, which have seen significant progress in recent years.


Throughout his visit, General Anil Chauhan will engage in discussions with high-ranking officials from both the civilian and military sectors of France. This includes meetings with counterparts such as the French Chief of Defence Staff (CEMA), General Thierry Burkhard, the Director of IHEDN (National Institute for Higher Defence Studies), and the Director General of Armament.

Senior scientist IMD Delhi, Naresh Kumar said, "Heatwave situation is currently prevailing in East India and it is expected that in the coming 4-5 days the heatwave will continue in some states. In West Bengal, we have issued a Red alert as heatwave to severe heatwave is prevailing there. The temperature is 6.5 to 4 degrees higher than normal. Along with this, the minimum temperature is also higher than normal. PM Modi To Inaugurate Lord Mahavir Nirvana Mahotsav On Sunday


PM Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Mahavir Nirvana Mahotsav on Mahavir Jayanti at the Bharat Mandapam, marking the 2,550th anniversary of Lord Mahavir's nirvana. Esteemed saints from the Jain community will grace the occasion, where PM Modi will release a commemorative stamp and deliver an address.


President Droupadi Murmu, in her message ahead of Mahavir Jayanti, urged individuals to promote love, harmony, and contribute to the nation's development with dedication.


"On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, I extend warm greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens, especially to the Jain community. Mahavir Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir – the epitome of non-violence and compassion," President Murmu said.


"This festival gives us the message of love and peace. Lord Mahavir showed the path of non-violence, celibacy, truth, and renunciation for creating an ideal and civilised society. His teachings will always remain relevant for the welfare of mankind," she also said.


Rahul, Kharge, Lalu And Others From I.N.D.I.A Bloc To Attain Rally In Ranchi 


Leaders from 14 political parties, consisting of Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Lalu Prasad, Farooq Abdullah, Akhilesh Yadav, and Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, decided to participate in the opposition I.N.D.I.A Bloc's 'Ulgulan Nyay rally' on April 21, alliance leaders highlighted on Thursday.


As per PTI, The rally will be held in the Jharkhand capital's Prabhat Tara ground, which will be lead by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).


In a joint press briefing, the bloc leaders outlined that the rally has the support of 28 parties, and over five lakh people from across the state are expected to participate.


JMM general secretary and central spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya confirmed the consent from the leaders of 14 parties till Wednesday. He added that senior Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have also confirmed their participation in the rally.


"RJD chief Lalu Prasad, former Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, and Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav have also given their nod to join the rally," he said.


Bhattacharya further added that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita and Sanjay Singh from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Derek O’Brien from TMC, Priyanka Chaturvedi from Shiv Sena (UBT), Dipankar Bhattacharya from CPI (ML) and others will be participating in the rally.


"Due to the Lok Sabha election schedule in South India, some of the leaders from there might not come but they have extended their support," he further added.
