A seven-storey building whose construction has been completed in 45 days for the homegrown fifth-generation fighter aircraft programme would be inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Bengaluru on Thursday.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has built the seven-storey building in the record 45 days using In-House Developed Hybrid Technology which would be used as the R&D facilities for the indigenous development of fifth-generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) in Bengaluru.
The Flight Control System (FCS) Complex at Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) is a seven-storeyed building with a plinth area of 1.3 lakh square feet. DRDO has completed the construction of a multi-storeyed (G+6) infrastructure for Flight Control System at ADE Bengaluru with in-house developed Hybrid technology consisting of conventional, pre-engineered and precast methodology.
"The building would be used for the development of Avionics for Fighter Aircrafts and Flight Control System (FCS) for AMCA being undertaken by Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) Bengaluru.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to be given a presentation on the project inside the building itself," said the DRDO officials. He said that to support the R&D activities of developing Avionics for Fighter Aircrafts and Flight Control System (FCS) for Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) being undertaken by Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) Bengaluru, it was decided to provide necessary state of the art infrastructure through composite construction technology in the shortest time frame of just 45 days.
The foundation stone for this project was laid on November 22, 2021, and actual construction began on February 1, 2022. "It is a unique record of completing a permanent building of seven stories with Hybrid construction technology that too in ready to move condition for the first time ever in the history of the construction industry in the country," the Official added. The 96th Foundation Course is the first Common Foundation Course at LBSNAA based on the principles of Mission Karmayogi, with new pedagogy and course design. The batch comprises of 488 OTs from 16 services and 3 Royal Bhutan Services (Administrative, Police and Forest).
To harness the adventurous and innovative spirit of the youthful batch, new pedagogy guided by the principles of Mission Karmayogi was designed. Emphasis was put on transforming the Officer Trainee from a student /citizen into a public servant through initiatives like interaction with Padma Awardees in the spirit of “Sabka Prayas” and village visits for an immersive experience of rural India. Officer Trainees also visited villages in remote/border areas to understand the challenges faced by people living in these areas. Modular approach for Curriculum was adopted in consonance with the principle of continuous graded learning and self-guided learning. In addition to health tests, fitness tests were also carried out to support the transition of an ‘exam burdened student’ to a ‘healthy youthful civil servant’. All 488 Officer Trainees were given first-level training in Krav Maga and in various other sports.

Following the poll debacle of Congress in five states and a row and accountability over leadership, senior Congress leader and member of the dissident "G-23" group of leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, is likely to meet party chief Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath on Thursday. Sources said Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also be present at tomorrow's meeting.
Azad's meeting with the Gandhis carries much significance amid dissatisfaction of G-23 leaders over the working style of the Congress leadership. It is believed that Azad will present the final proposal of the G-23 members before the party's high command.
The future of G23 will be decided after Azad's meeting with Sonia Gandhi. Azad hosted a number of G-23 leaders at his residence here today. Among those seen arriving at his residence included Kapil Sibal, Shashi Tharoor, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Anand Sharma, Manish TewariMani Shankar Aiyar, PJ Kurien, Parneet Kaur, Sandeep Dikshit and Raj Babbar.
According to sources, today's meeting was set to be held at the residence of Kapil Sibal, who had invited the leaders of G-23 and other parties to his residence for dinner but the venue was shifted to Azad's residence after Sibal's recent "attack" on the Gandhis. Sibal had after the Congress' rout in five assembly polls had given an interview to a newspaper said that it was time for a leadership change in the party and for someone else other than the Gandhis to head the Congress.
According to sources, the Congress leadership is extremely unhappy with Kapil Sibal and also with Anand Sharma. A middle way can be found only after the meeting of Azad and Sonia Gandhi, said sources. (ANI)
