Amit Shah Heaps Praise On Nadda

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah predicted that the party would win the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 with a larger mandate than in 2019.

The development, which was widely anticipated, demonstrates the party's preference for continuity as it prepares for the crucial Lok Sabha elections in April and May of next year.

Shah told reporters when he made the decision that the proposal to extend Nadda's term until June of next year was put forth by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, a former party president like him and that the executive unanimously agreed with it.

Later, in a tweet, Nadda said, "we have to form the BJP government in the next Lok Sabha elections with more than two-thirds majority under the leadership of Modi ji," expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all members of the BJP's national executive. Nadda's extension as party president has already been approved by the BJP's parliamentary board.

Shah stated, "I, on behalf of the party, express heartfelt gratitude to Nadda-ji for his committed leadership and contributions, and extend the best wishes for his future term."

When Nadda becomes the party's leader in the Lok Sabha elections, he will be following in the footsteps of Shah, whose term was also extended so that he could lead the party in the 2019 elections.

Shah expressed optimism that the BJP, led by PM Modi and party leader Nadda, will win more elections than in the past.

The minister praised Nadda's leadership, stating that he linked the party's structure to helping people during the COVID-19 epidemic.

“During the pandemic, our party has done a lot of significant works under Nadda-ji’s leadership; be it about providing food and rations to the poor or taking people to hospitals for check-ups and treatment,” he added.

Shah went on to say that the BJP has worked under Nadda's leadership on the principle of "Seva Hi Sangathan" from the booth to the national level.

Shah stated that the BJP won 73 assembly bypolls out of 120 held during Nadda's tenure, noting that the party won many state assembly elections.

He added that the BJP's success in Bihar and its subsequent formation of the government in Maharashtra and Haryana were all due to Nadda's leadership.

Shah stated that during Nadda's tenure as the party president, the BJP won assembly elections in Assam, Manipur, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, it established its own government for the first time in Goa.
