Ashutosh Bhardwaj, an accused in the Kanjhawala case, has been granted bail by the Rohini court. He has been granted bail against a bail bond of Rs 50,000 on the condition that without the court's permission, he won't leave Delhi. Court has directed the accused not to attempt any harm or try to destroy any evidence related to the case. The court also directed him to not contact any witnesses.

A news agency PTI tweeted "Kanjhawala accident case: Delhi court grants bail to accused Ashutosh Bhardwaj."

While opposing the bail plea of Ashutosh Bhardwaj, who was accused of lying to the police about the identity of the driver, Delhi Police informed the court on Monday that they were in the process of invoking the murder section in the Kanjhawala case. Atul Shrivastava, the special public prosecutor, had claimed that the inquiry was at a pivotal point.

Taking police claims into consideration that Bhardwaj allegedly deceived and harboured the other accused persons, the court refused bail to him on January 12 in Bhardwaj's case.
