Chennai: A woman died after her love stabbed her over 15 times with a knife after she refused to accept his marriage proposal in front of her office in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The woman refused to accept the marriage proposal since her family members did not approve of the marriage due to caste differences.



According to ANI, DCP, East division, Bengaluru City said, “The woman, a resident of Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada, who was living in Bengaluru was stabbed multiple time (more than 15 times) yesterday by her lover namely Dinakar Banala after she refused to marry him.” 


“Due to the caste difference, the girl's family members were not ready for the marriage. So the accused stabbed her several times and the incident took place right in front of the office where the girl was working. The accused has been arrested,” he said.






The deceased woman has been identified as Leela Pavithra Nalamati from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh. She moved to Bengaluru some time ago and started working as an employee of a private healthcare firm in Murugeshpalya.


The accused Dinakar Banala was also from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh but worked at a healthcare company in Domlur.

The police said, Dinakar and Leela entered a relationship five years ago and recently decided to get married. However, Leela's family refused to approve of the marriage due to caste differences and she informed Dinakar that she had to abide by the decision of the family. 


However, upon hearing Leela's words, Dinakar got angry and stabbed her to death, said a report on Times of India.
