New Delhi: The Benelli Tornado 302 made heads turn at the 2016 Auto Expo, where it was first showcased. It sure was a show-stealer, while the Benelli unveiled its highly attractive line-up.
Though camouflaged sufficiently, the full-fairing motorcycle displays an aggressive sports bike ride stance. The Benelli Tornado 302 having been spotted testing in India also means that the Indian launch is close in the festive season. Also, sharing the same underpinnings as the TNT 300, the Benelli Tornado 302 was first debuted at the 2015 EICMA Motorcycle show, held in Milan.
The Benelli Tornado 302 is an alluring and updated superbike on offer. It also will get twin-headlamps, as seen in the spy shots. The 14-litre fuel tank looks huge as well making the rider seem comfortably positioned, as it kind of snugs the rider fit within the seats and the tank. The important thing to notice from the side view is the split seats, which further accentuates its sports bike appeal.
As a 300 cc offering, the twin-cylinder, 300 cc powertrain of the Benelli Tornado is also tuned to a great output of 35.4 PS of power at 1,200 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.
With this power and torque output, the 300 cc Benelli Tornado 302 can clock a maximum speed of 170 kmph. Braking duties are performed by the 260mm petal-designed discs on the front wheel and a 240 mm disc in its rear. Similarly, suspension duties are performed by a 41 mm USD front forks and a monoshock suspension at the rear.
Upon launch, the Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM RC390 and Yamaha R3 will be its rivals, while the price of the Benelli Tornado 302 will be around Rs. 3 lakhs. The 300 cc offering from the Benelli will also sport high-end technological equipment and features.
