New Delhi: Bajaj revolutionized the two wheeler market with the Pulsar, which came in with a combination of a slight premium over the commuter market price and premium looks and power. The Indian two wheeler manufacturer literally flooded the streets with Pulsars, ever since.

Now, Bajaj aims to achieve an aggressive 50% market share in the two-wheeler market with the launch of the new 2017 Bajaj Pulsar Series. The new iterations of the Bajaj Pulsar will launch in the Indian market in December 2016.

The 2017 Bajaj Pulsar Series is likely to bring both improved performance and styling, along with compliance to the BS-IV emission norms, which all automobile manufacturers will have to mandatorily adhere to.

Besides BS-IV compliance, two wheelers over 125 cc displacement will also have to be equipped with ABS, which will become mandatory soon in India. So, the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar Series will also come equipped with ABS and CBS as well.

Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, has also confirmed that the new Pulsar series will be launched in December, this year. Alongside the upcoming Pulsar series, Bajaj Auto has also set a steep target of selling over 10,000 units of its higher displacement model, the Kratos VS400.

The sub-400 cc offering could have made it to the market with the Pulsar badge but Bajaj did not think it prudent to name the higher displacement models after the Pulsar series. The latter is known for different reasons as affordability with performance, while the Kratos VS400 will be a higher end offering from the company.

The new Pulsar iterations will pack both improved performance and styling to match the expectations of the current generation buyers, as plenty of new models from rival manufacturers have also come up. Pulsar enthusiasts await the launch to know if the upcoming Pulsar Series will turn out to be a game changer by 50% share of the Indian two-wheeler market.
