With 75th Independence Day around the corner, the Centre is putting in all efforts to make Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav a grand success with bike rallies being flagged off in several parts of the country. On a similar note, the Archaeological Survey of India on Wednesday made entry free for all the tourists and visitors at all the monuments in the country. The free entry to all the protected monuments will be applicable between August 5 and August 15.


Taking this to his Twitter handle, Union Minister Kishan Reddy wrote, "Free entry at all monuments August 5-15: As part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' and 75th I-Day celebrations, ASI has made Entry Free for the visitors/tourists to all its protected monuments/sites across the country, from 5th -15th August, 2022."

"In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 6 of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Rules, 1959, the Director General, Archaeological Survey of India hereby directed that no fee shall be charged at all the ticketed Centrally protected monuments/Archaeological Sites & Remains. 

 

"At All Archaeological Site Museums from 5th August 2022 to 15th August 2022 on the occasion of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' as part of commemoration of 75th years of India's Independence," said ASI in an order.
