New Delhi: Four people were reportedly killed after landslides triggered by an incessant downpour in Arunachal Pradesh's Itanagar, said police on Monday. A house was also destroyed due to the horrific landslide caused by rain, killing two people living in it. The Capital Superintendent of Police (SP) Jimmy Chiram, said that on Sunday, an earthen house collapsed due to the landslide, which is still stuck in the debris. Two bodies have been removed from the debris, while nothing can be said about the woman. The Superintendent of Police said, "Rescue operations are going on to evacuate the woman."
The deceased have been identified as Nagen Burman (50) and Tapas Rai (15) and Kusum Rai (35) is still buried in the debris.
According to the NDRF sources, manual search operations are not possible at the site so its teams are waiting for equipment to arrive.

In another occurrence, two PWD workers were cleared away in landslides at Ganga-Jully Basti Road while attempting to remove a motorcycle stuck in mud, Chiram said.
Authorities said surface communication between Likaballi in the Lower Siang region and Aalo, the headquarters of the West Siang district, was disrupted following avalanches at different places.
Officials said that most parts of the state have been receiving torrential rains for the last few days, causing landslides in some districts. The administration has set up temporary relief camps at the Government Higher Secondary School, Government Secondary School in Nahargun and Nikam Nia Hall of Bandradeva.
