The scooter range now gets new colours and a semi-digital instrument cluster







Aprilia had showcased its upcoming scooter range at the Auto Expo at the start of this year. Of that range, they have now launched the 2019 SR 150 range. As part of its 2019 updates, the scooter gets new colours and features. It also gets a new carbon edition.



 


There are three new colours on offer other than the matte black and matte white shades it used to comes with. The new colours include matte olive green, matte blue and a special Carbon edition that has matte black bodywork with carbon stickers at the front, top apron and side panels. The SR 150 Race edition also gets a new racy livery.




On the features front, the scooter now gets a semi digital instrument console instead of the previous analogue unit, a twin-pod white faced instrument console with a speedometer and fuel gauge. The new instrument console gets a black analogue dial that houses a speedometer with a digital screen that shows fuel level, two trip meters, odometer and an engine oil change reminder. The scooter also gets an underseat USB charger. Aprilia is also offering a windscreen as an optional accessory.





Mechanically, the SR 150 carries forward the same underpinnings and air-cooled 154.8cc single cylinder motor, making the same 10.2PS at 6750rpm and 10.9Nm at 5000rpm. Suspension setup also remains unchanged with front telescopic forks and rear monoshock damper. The race edition gets adjustable rear suspension. Braking is done by 220mm front disc and 140mm rear drum.  The 14-inch wheels come wrapped in fat tubeless tyres. The SR 150 is a heavy scooter at 122kg (kerb) and comes with a high ground clearance of 155mm. Seat height at 780mm is tall by scooter standards. 



 





The 2019 Aprilia SR 150 is priced at Rs 70,031, the SR 150 Race retails for Rs 80,211 and the Carbon special edition will cost Rs 73,500 (ex-showroom, Pune). The SR 150 faces competition from the Vespa SXL 150 and the TVS Ntorq 125. Aprilia is offering free 5 year third party insurance for bikes booked within the next two months with first year labour service free.
