Hyderabad: Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy protested in Ummareddygunta in Nellore on Tuesday by sitting in a sewage canal protesting against officials' for not resolving the drainage issues.
He was angry with the officials of Nellore Corporation and Railway authorities for not building the bridge despite repeated requests and a similar protest was done in 2018 when YSRCP was in opposition, said IANS report.
Sridhar Reddy protested against the behaviour of the railway and Nellore municipal corporation officials. Kotamreddy said there is a lot of drainage problems in the Ummareddygunta 21st Division in Nellore. He said that hundreds of families are facing difficulties, and this problem had been there for many years and has questioned it many times in opposition.
Kotamreddy said that there was no change even during his party's tenure. The MLA claimed that despite being a member of the ruling party, the authorities had shown little interest in the problem he had brought up.
He said authorities are not paying attention to people's problems, and he is always on the side of the people.

After learning this protest by MLA, railway and municipal authorities hurried to the area, spoke with the MLA Kotamreddy, and promised to settle the matter within 10 days. If officials didn't fix the problem, Sridhar Reddy threatened to protest there again. He said that railway and city officials had ignored the problem for almost ten years.
Earlier, MLA Sridhar Reddy denied that there was no truth in the campaign that he would change the party. He said that he would not change parties like seasonal politicians. He further said that as long as he has the people's blessings and Chief Minister Jagan, no one can do anything to him.
