Hyderabad: Actor-turned-politician Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan said the picture of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose should be on the hundred-rupee notes in the Indian currency.
Pawan, who participated in an event organised by the Pawan Kalyan Learning Center for Human Excellence at the Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad on Friday, said that we are not Indians if we do not respect a freedom fighter like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, who sacrificed his life for the nation.
Dr Padmaja Reddy, a Kuchipudi dancer and writer MVR Sastry, also attended the event where the book Netaji, written by MVR Sastry, was launched.
It is to be noted that Pawan Kalyan has also started a campaign for bringing back Netaji's ashes to India. According to the campaign, Netaji's ashes from the Renkoji Temple should be carried to the Red Fort. He took to Twitter to encourage everyone to join the campaign by using the hashtags #RenkojiToRedFort #BringBackNetajiAshes.
The Jana Sena head said that Subhash Chandra Bose is the man who gave the Jaihind slogan for the Indian Independence movement, adding that it is because of the sacrifices of so many such people that we are all enjoying a life of luxury today.
