Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the digital classrooms programme, making it the first state in India to introduce interactive flat panels (IFP) in government schools. The programme aims to provide new-age learning opportunities to students.

The traditional blackboards in government schools are being replaced with interactive flat panels. Initially, 10,000 classrooms across the state will be equipped with IFPs, with another 20,000 to switch to digital mode by July. By December 2023, all 50,000 classrooms in the state will have IFPs.

The Chief Minister also launched the distribution of 'Jagananna Vidya Kanuka' kits worth Rs. 1,042.53 crore to 43,10,165 students of Classes 1 to 10 studying in government and aided schools across the state.

During the launch, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy spent time with students at the Model School in Kosuru, Palnadu district, and also interacted with them.

The Chief Minister also had a chance to see educational content being uploaded on the tablets provided to the students. He wrote "All the Best" on the IFP display board to officially launch the digital classroom programme.

Prior to the launch, the Chief Minister addressed a large gathering of students and parents, highlighting the government's commitment to bringing revolutionary changes to the education sector.

"The aim is to ensure that each family in the state produces professionals in various fields, such as engineering, medicine, science, entrepreneurship, economics, and software leadership," he said.

The government has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with US firm ETS (Educational Testing Service) to train students from grades 3 to 9 in TOEFL-facing skills. Furthermore, teachers will be sent to the US to acquire the necessary teaching skills.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the government has invested a substantial amount, around Rs. 60,329 crore, in the education sector alone through various programmes such as Amma Vodi, Jagananna Vidya Deevena, Vasathi Deevena, Goru Mudda, Nadu-Nedu, and the introduction of English medium.
