In his second visit to New Delhi in a fortnight, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and took up several pending demands.
In separate meetings with Shah and Sitharaman, Reddy requested the ministers to raise the credit limit of the state from Rs 17,923 crore to the earlier limit of Rs 42,472 crore, which he said was slashed for no fault of the southern state in 2021-22.
The Andhra CM, in his meeting with Sitharaman, sought release of the state's pending dues and help the state tide over financial stress.
He also appealed to Sitharaman for early approval of the revised cost estimate of Rs 55,657 crore for the mega Polavaram Irrigation Project on the Godavari River.
The Chief Minister requested Home Minister Amit Shah to release the pending amount of Rs 36,625 crore under Resource Gap Funding for fiscal 2014–15.

Reddy also urged the Home Minister to release Rs 10,000 crore immediately to expedite the Polavaram project's construction and another Rs. 2020 crore to fill the scourge pits formed at the main dam site due to the washing away of the diaphragm wall in the flash floods.
CM Reddy appealed to Amit Shah to expedite several issues that remained unresolved even nine years after the "unscientific bifurcation" pushed back Andhra Pradesh in terms of development and revenue.
The CM also reminded Amit Shah to live up to the promise of according special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister informed Shah that because of the "irrational selection of beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act", the state has suffered a financial burden of Rs 5,527 crore in providing rations to 56 lakh families under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).
As a result, the CM said that the state needed to be compensated by the unused ration stocks as recommended by the Niti Aayog.
