Port Blair: It wasn't a usual Tuesday morning for the islanders living in Andaman & Nicobar as four earthquakes wobbled the islands within the time span of three hours. the last two earthquakes which struck the island after 9 AM were reported to be of high intensity with 6.1 and 5.9 magnitudes respectively. Despite severe quakes jolted parts of islands, there is no life or property loss reported.
The first quake struck the island at 6.27 AM with a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale near the island's capital Port Blair at the depth of 30 kms in the earth's mantle. The second jolt came at 7.21 AM with a magnitude of 4.6 at depth of 10 kms near Campbell Bay.

When things were settling for the islanders, severe jolts were felt near Nicobar islands as the quake at the depth of 10 kms struck with an intensity of 6.1 magnitude. According to the National Centre for Seismology's interactive, the tremors could have been felt even on a renowned tourist island Phuket, located in Thailand.
Exactly after 7 minutes of the third quake, at 9.19 AM another quake rocked the Nicobar Islands with a severe intensity magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale at the depth of 10 kms from the seas level.
