New Delhi: One of the most horrid aftermaths of the Pulwama terror attack in Kashmir, was seen in the recent instances of aggression against Kashmiri people in different states. At a time when Kashmiris are being assaulted and are being termed as “anti-nationals” and are accused of displaying allegiance to Pakistan, a video which surfaced recently can bridge the sense of alienation that has evolved post the attack and restore the spirit of nationalism.

A footage has been shared on YouTube that shows Kashmiri people helping the army men and locals stranded on Jammu-Srinagar highway, where the attack took place on February 14.

In the video shared by 'Blessing Kashmir', locals can be seen standing on the highway and distributing food to the passing by vehicles of army men and locals, who were stranded this side due to closing of highway.

The Jammu Srinagar National Highway had been closed due to snowfall and landslides of late. It was reopened on Sunday allowing Kashmir-bound vehicles to ply on the highway, which was reopened for one-way traffic after remaining closed for three consecutive days owing to fresh snowfall and multiples landslides. The highway was closed again on Monday due to fresh landslides.

In the wake of complaints mushrooming from different parts of the country about assault on Kashmiri people, the Supreme Court on Friday directed chief secretaries and DGPs of 11 states to take "prompt" and necessary action to prevent incidents of threat, assault and social boycott of Kashmiris in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack.

On Saturday, PM Modi also hailed people of Kashmir, who lined up for donating blood for those injured in firing during the Amarnath yatra last year.  “The Kashmiri youth is also disturbed by terrorism and our fight is not against Kashmiris. They are with people of the country”, he said.
