ABP News Journalist Indrajeet Rai Gets World Book Of Records Award At London Ceremony

ABP News journalist Indrajeet Rai received the World Book of Records award for his contributions towards curbing fake news through forensic science. The event was held on British Parliament premises.

The British Parliament's House of Commons Monday hosted a ceremony to give away the World Book of Records awards, where ABP News journalist Indrajeet Rai was honoured with the award for being "India’s First and World’s Longest Serving Forensic Journalist". Rai, an Executive Editor at ABP News channel, is also a forensic scientist who serves as a forensic trainer at various police academies in several states across India. 

The ceremony awarded a total of four persons, including a UK Police detective, Kam Mystery, and London Metropolitan Police officer Ranji Sunigra, who were recognised for their significant contributions. Speaking on the occasion, Simon Ovens, the official representative of UK King Charles III, said peace requires everyone in society to contribute their best, and Britain will always honour those who do it. He congratulated Indrajit Rai, remarking that true peace can only be achieved by curbing destructive fake news through the use of forensic science. 

British MP Gareth Thomas said education can lead the world on a path of development, adding that journalists like Indrajeet Rai should innovate in their use of science. Superintendent Matthew Grey of the Metropolitan Police congratulated Rai on his contribution, highlighting the necessity of forensic journalism in combating the menace of fake news. 

Speaking on the occasion, Rai expressed pride in India's progress over the past decade, including reforms in its old laws, making forensic science essential in investigating serious crimes. World Book Record's Peace Ambassador Rajrajeshwar Guruji said the world will truly progress when science and technology are used for peace and cooperation. London-based Indian counsellor Sharad Jha congratulated Rai, emphasising the importance of forensic journalism for a safe society.

The World Book of Records, as mentioned on its website, is an organisation that "catalogs and verifies extraordinary records across the world with authentic certification in United Kingdom and Europe".
