New Delhi: Cabinet Minister for Law & Justice and Communication and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad on ABP News’ Budget Conclave said that "out of the 5 trillion economy, 1 trillion will come from the digital economy."


Ravi Shankar Prasad talked about Production Link Incentive (PLIs) has been increased which has made major companies like Samsung, Apple from around the world to manufacture their products according to global standard in India. This will give about 9 lakh people jobs. "During the Corona, times I have brought in two major companies from the neighbouring country. India will be a part of the global economy by being a part of the global supply chain."

"We will make manufacturing and digital economy strong in India," he added.


"Digital India aims to make common Indian people stronger through technology and bring about transparency." He said that there will be new laws for data protection very soon after the going through the reports.


Post budget announcement, RJD Leader Tejashwi Yadav lashed out at the Modi government saying  'this budget is not for the development of the country but for its sale. Earlier, they sold Railways, Air India, Bharat Petroleum, & others. This budget is about more such entities that will be sold including gas pipeline, stadium, roadways & warehouses.'


Ravi Shankar Prasad responded that the Modi government revived BSNL and it is now "per capita positive", adding, "we brought India Post to life and during the Corona time it has done a commendable job". 


He asserted that when banks were given autonomy, they were starting to build a profit. This disinvestment is strategic for PSUs which are facing a loss he explained.
