AAP Minister Rajendra Pal Event Stirs Row, Arvind Kejriwal 'Unhappy'

Responding to the allegations, Gautam said that he has faith in Buddhism, and added that BJP is afraid of AAP. He also termed the saffron party as “anti-national”.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal is unhappy with his minister Rajendra Pal Gautam over a purported video where the latter is said to have taken oath to boycott worshipping of several Hindu gods, sources told ABP News. Kejriwal expressed his unhappiness after the said video surfaced during an event. 

According to the sources, The video is from the 'Mission Jai Bhim' program, where Rajendra Pal Gautam also participated. Ten thousand people took Buddhist initiation at Ambedkar Bhawan in Karol Bagh where Kejriwal's minister administered oath not to worship Lord Ram and Lord Krishna. 

After the video surfaced, the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party trained its gun against the minister saying that it is an insult to Hinduism and Buddhism. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari alleged that AAP ministers were inciting riots and added that they are going to submit a complaint against the minister. 

“This is an insult to Hinduism & Buddhism. AAP ministers are attempting to incite riots. The minister should immediately be removed from the party. We're submitting a complaint against him,” Tiwari said during a press conference, quoted by news agency ANI. 

Responding to the allegations, Gautam said that he has faith in Buddhism, and added that BJP is afraid of AAP. He also termed the saffron party as “anti-national”. 

“BJP is anti-national. I've faith in Buddhism, why does anyone have trouble with it? Let them complain. The Constitution gives us the freedom to follow any religion. BJP is afraid of AAP. They can only lodge fake cases against us,” the AAP minister for Water, Tourist, Culture, Arts & Languages and Gurudwara Elections told the news agency.
