At least eight people, including a woman, died and as many sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a state transport bus and a car in Haryana's Jind district on Saturday, said police, as reported by the news agency PTI. The incident occured on the Jind-Bhiwani road near Bibipur village. SHO of Sadar police station Inspector Sanjay Kumar told PTI that six of the injured were rushed to the PGIMS hospital in Rohtak and the remaining two were receiving treatment in Jind.
In another incident, a civic employee, identified as G Bala Chander Yadav, was critically injured after he was hit by a speeding BMW in the Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad in the early hours of Friday. The police suspected that the driver of the BMW was drunk at the time of the incident. CCTV footage of the incident showed Yadav, who was riding a two-wheeler, being hit by the speeding SUV, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Despite Yadav slowing down, the car collided with his vehicle and dragged him for a distance before finally coming to a halt. After the incident, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. A passerby shifted Yadav to a nearby hospital. Yadav, a circle manager of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), was on his way to work when the accident occurred.
"Hit and run incident reported in Banjara Hills PS limits in Hyderabad. A GHMC employee namely Bala Chander Yadav’s two-wheeler was rammed by a speeding BMW car today in Banjara Hills police station limits. The accident happened after the driver lost control over the wheel. The car has been identified and the accused is yet to be caught," said Banjara Hills Inspector Narender.
