Etawah (UP): In an extremely unfortunate incident coinciding with the Holi celebrations, an elderly woman was beaten to death and five members of her family sustained injuries for opposing a group that was celebrating the colourful festival outside their home in Mevati Tola locality of Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah city.
According to police, the members of the group entered the elderly woman’s house around 10 a.m. on Monday and beat her to death with sticks and stones.
The police added that members of the group, who were in an inebriated state, also thrashed five family members, including two women and three children, when they tried to save the 60-year-old lady.
In another ill-fated incident, a youth injured six people in the city’s Ekdil Police Station area as he drove a tractor at high speed under the influence of alcohol.

The injured were admitted to the hospital for first aid while the youth driving the tractor, which got damaged after hitting an electricity pole, was handed over to the police.
