Six persons have been arrested by police for assaulting a youth in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal, said the police on Tuesday. On Tuesday,  Bhopal's Teela Jamalpura police arrested two more accused in connection with the case taking the total number of arrests to six. In a viral video, a youth was seen allegedly being harassed and assaulted by a few miscreants. In the video, it could be seen that the miscreants are asking the boy to bark like a dog and have put a belt around his neck. 


Following the incident, all the six accused, including three with criminal history were taken into police custody, Bhopal police official Riyaz Iqbal told news agency ANI. 


On Monday, the Bhopal administration demolished the house of one of the accused, Samir Khan, in the presence of police. He was also slapped with the National Security Act. 






The video was shared by a user on Twitter with the caption, “ Faizan, Bilal, Sameer, Mufid, and Sahil brutally thrashed a Hindu boy, Vijay, put a belt around his neck, and forced him to bark like a dog in Bhopal, MP. Dara Hua Visesh Samuday threatened to rape his sister and abuse his mother too”. 


Reacting to the viral video, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that Bhopal Police Commissioner was instructed to take action and probe the incident within 24 hours. Calling the incident grievous, Mishra said that such behaviour towards a human being is highly condemnable.    


"I saw that video. I felt like it was a grievous incident. Such behavior towards a human being is highly condemnable. I have instructed Bhopal Police Commissioner to probe this incident and take action within 24 hours," Narottam Mishra said, as quoted by the news agency ANI.
