Toyota has updated the Fortuner for 2019. It gets additional features such as heat rejection glass, perforated front leather seats and optional beige upholstery. While heat rejection glass is now available on both the petrol and diesel versions of the SUV, the perforated leather seats and optional beige upholstery is limited to the diesel version.

The Japanese carmaker has not only updated the feature list of the Fortuner, but the price list has been revised as well. Earlier, where the SUV was priced from Rs 27.58 lakh to 33.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the updated SUV starts at Rs 27.83 lakh and goes up to Rs 33.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Apart from the above-mentioned updates, the carmaker has retained other features that were available on the older version of the SUV. These include seven airbags, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, vehicle stability control, traction control, hill descent control (4WD only), LED headlamps with LED DRLs and fog lamps, dual-zone AC, push button start and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and Bluetooth, to name a few.

Similarly, the mechanicals have also been carried forward as such. The petrol Fortuner comes with a 2.7-litre engine that makes 166PS of power and 245Nm of torque and can be had with a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed AT. The diesel SUV, on the other hand, gets a 2.8-litre engine that puts out 177PS of power. Its torque figure varies with the transmission option. It generates 420Nm with a 6-speed MT and 450Nm with a 6-speed AT.

We expect Toyota to launch the Fortuner facelift soon as its primary rival, the Ford Endeavour, has already received an update. With the update, expect the Fortuner to be offered with even more features as the current version.
