According to the election commission, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep will see voting between 7 AM to 6 PM. Uttarakhand will go to polls from 7 AM to 5 PM in the first phase of polls.
Among the North East states, voting will take place between 7 AM and 5 PM in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura West. Outer Manipur, Nagaland and Meghalaya will go to polls between 7 AM and 4 PM.
The 2019 Lok Sabha polls are the 17th general elections happening in the country since India became a republic in 1952. The elections shall be held across seven phases in 543 parliamentary constituencies from April 11th to May 19th. The counting of votes shall be done on May 23.
