The late political leader passed away on Thursday evening (August 16, 2018) after prolonged illness. The BJP veteran breathed his last at 5:05 PM and since then the country is in deep grief!
Devastated by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's death, Asia's nightingale Lata Mangeshkar who shared a very close bonding with him, said: He was like my father. He called me Beti. I called him Dadda. I feel I've lost my father all over again.

Late Bollywood legend Dev Anand had accompanied the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his Lahore bus trip in 1999.
Bollywood's 'king' Shah Rukh Khan also got an opportunity to meet Vajpayee along with Javed Akhtar, late gazal singer Jagjit Singh and late filmmaker Yash Chopra. The five of them came together in 2002 for the song Kya Khoya Kya Paya a song from Singh’s album Samvedna – Sensitivity. The song was written by Vajpayee, sung by Singh, the video was directed by Chopra, performed by Shah Rukh and narrated by Amitabh.
