If you are not a burger person, there are higher chances that you are into sandwiches. Sandwiches are without a doubt one of the most popular snacks on the earth. They're simple to make, delicious, and can be slathered in flavorful sauces. A hearty sandwich is always a good choice for a quick snack during the day or to satisfy those unexpected hunger pangs. The best thing about a sandwich is that it is easily customizable and can be altered to suit individual taste preferences. Sandwiches are generally inexpensive and won't break the bank. However, the signature sandwich at this New York restaurant costs $214 (Rs 17,500). Yes, you heard correctly!

To commemorate National Grilled Cheese Day (April 12), upscale New York restaurant 'Serendipity 3' has relaunched its 'Quintessential Grilled Cheese' sandwich for a limited time. Despite the fact that the restaurant has held the Guinness World Record for the world's most expensive sandwich since 2014, this particular sandwich had been missing from their menu for some time. "We are bringing back yet another Guinness World Record-winning dish for a limited time only," the restaurant announced on Instagram. This National Grilled Cheese Day (April 12th), S3 in New York will serve "The Quintessential Grilled Cheese Sandwich," which holds the Guinness World Record for the most expensive sandwich in the world at $214."

Take A Look At This:

Here's What's Inside This Sandwich:

"The sandwich is filled with thick slices of rare Caciocavallo Podolico Cheese, made in Southern Italy from the milk of the Podolica cow, which grazes free-range, feeding on strongly aromatic grasses such as fennel, liquorice, juniper, laurel bay, and wild strawberries, infusing the milk with these sweet aromatic perfumes," according to Serendipity 3's Instagram. Only about 25,000 of these special cows exist, and they only lactate during the months of May and June, making this cheese one of the finest and rarest in the world."

But that's not all. The sandwich is then toasted, and 23k edible gold is sprinkled around the edges. It is presented on a Baccarat crystal plate with a Baccarat glass of South African Lobster Tomato Bisque, crème fraîche, and truffle oil as a dipping sauce. It sounds delicious, doesn't it?

For those who are unaware, this is not the restaurant's first world record. They had previously established records for producing dishes like the most expensive French fries, milkshake, and dessert.
