World Cocktail Day is celebrated every year on May 13, marking the publication date of the first definition of a cocktail in 1806. A New York tabloid 'The Balance and Columbian Repository' defined a cocktail as "a stimulating liquor, composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water and bitters". Here are some recipes shared by chefs that you can try at home on this day.


1. Rosie Rosie (By Nishant K Gaurav - Lead Mixologist for Guppy)


Ingredients:



  • Whiskey- 45ml

  • Aperol- 10ml

  • Apple Soju- 30ml

  • Lemon Juice- 4-5 drops 

  • Rose Cordial- 45ml 


Method - (shaken) 



  • Take a tall fancy glass and keep it for chilling 

  • Decorate glass with dehydrated rose petals 

  • Use a cocktail mixer, and add all the ingredients together 

  • Stir well with ice cubes (6-7 gentle stir) 

  • Pour into the glass over block clear ice (recommended) 

  • Garnish with rose petals

2. Dirty Gigi (By Harish Chimmwal head mixologist- Olive group ( The Grammar room))


Method:


Add vodka with vermouth, gooseberry brine and pickled gooseberry in a container and blend well. Add some local colours and serve it in a glass along with ice.

3. Espresso Cold Brew Negroni (By Ronit Saha, NPD Executive at Third Wave Coffee)


Ingredients:



  • 30 ml shot of espresso

  • 30 ml shot of gin

  • 30 ml shot of sweet vermouth

  • 30 ml shot of Campari

  • Orange peel for garnish


Method:


 In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine, espresso, gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari, stir well until chilled, strain into a rocks glass over ice, and garnish with an orange peel

4. Espresso Martini (By Siddhant Hule, Brand Ambassador, Himmaleh Spirits)


Ingredients:



  • 15 ml Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur

  • 45 ml Vodka

  • 1 Shot of Espresso

  • 7.5 ml Sugar Syrup

  • 3 - 4 Fresh Coffee Beans to Garnish


Glass: Martini Glass


Method:



  • Mix all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake it well. 

  • Post that double strain the concoction in a martini glass and garnish it with fresh coffee beans.


5. Jab V Met (By Cedrik Rodrigues, Beverage Manager, Hitchki Resto Bar)


Ingredients:



  • 45 ml Gin

  • 15 ml Martini Rosso

  • 10 ml Lime Juice

  • 10 ml Sugar Syrup

  • 20 ml Kairi Panna

  • 20 ml Butterfly Pea Flower Syrup

  • ¼ TSP Aamchur Powder 

  • 100 gms Ice

  • Dehydrated Orange Slice

  • Strawberry Poppers


Method: 



  • Shake all ingredients 


Serve:



  • Designed Old Fashioned

  • Poppers on Orange Slice;

  • Pea Flower Syrup Float
