Reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska, known for her love of Indian culture, expressed her admiration for the beauty of Kashmir during her visit to the region. On Monday, she graced the 71st Miss World 2023 press conference in Kashmir, where she voiced her gratitude for the chance to experience the stunning landscapes of the region. Dressed in traditional Kashmiri attire, Karolina also tried on a local dress at Nishat Bagh, a testament to her appreciation for the local culture.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to see this beautiful place (Kashmir) in India. I didn't expect it at all, but it just stuns me with its beauty," Karolina was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Karolina, joined by Miss World India Sini Shetty and Miss World Caribbean Emmy Pena, took the time to explore the intricate handicrafts and art of Kashmir. The trio visited the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre to admire the renowned Kashmiri handicrafts, which are renowned for their artistry and cultural significance.
Draped in the elegant attire of Kashmir, complete with their crowns, the trio not only immersed themselves in the local culture but also enjoyed the serene view of the Jhelum River.
Jamil Saidi, Chairman of PME Entertainment, shared his sentiments about the visit, stating, "Kashmir, the crowning jewel of India, has a special place in my heart. My encounters with its warm people and majestic landscapes remind me of what India truly stands for - unity in diversity. We extend our gratitude to the LG and the wonderful people of this region for their kind-hearted welcome,"ANI quoted Saidi as saying.
Miss Julia Morley, Chairman & CEO of the Miss World Organization, also expressed her appreciation for the experience, particularly lauding the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation for their role in facilitating the visit, ANI reported.
Karolina's visit to Srinagar included a shikara ride on Dal Lake, which she enjoyed with other dignitaries. The Polish beauty, a model, TV presenter, social activist, UN Messenger of Peace Goodwill Ambassador, philanthropist, and publicist, won the title of Miss World 2021.
Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska had previously expressed her excitement about India hosting the Miss World 2023 pageant. She had shared her desire to explore India's diverse values and culture. "There are so many places in India and one month is not enough to explore. I would love to travel and learn about people because they are an important part of every country," she told ANI.

Miss World Karolina Bielawska, accompanied by a delegation, met with Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena at his official residence on Tuesday (August 29).
Expressing her gratitude for the meeting, Bielawska stated, "I'm so honoured to have this meeting and I'm grateful for the time and hospitality. The message I got is that we all here are very excited to host the 71st Miss World in India...India excels in various areas, including science and the space sector. As India is also hosting the G20, I can't wait to welcome almost 140 countries here and showcase India's beauty and culture to the world," ANI quoted her as saying.
She added, "It will be one of the most successful finals in the history of Miss World, and I just hope that everyone will enjoy it. The people of India will be happy and proud to have us here," referring to the decision to host Miss World 2023 in Kashmir.
India's upcoming hosting of the 71st edition of Miss World marks a significant occasion, as the country last hosted the event in 1996. With a remarkable track record in the pageant, India has secured the Miss World title six times in the past. The nation's enduring connection with the competition showcases its exceptional prowess in the world of beauty and poise.
