In the video, it can be seen that the police officer is trying control the mob on its own.
He can be seen talking with the agitated mob when suddenly he is slapped by a youth. The mob starts pushing him backward.
However, on witnessing that the things are getting out of control, he starts caning which in turn makes the situation worse for him as he gets beaten by a group of 30-50 odd men and women.
The mob also snatches his stick and strike him with the same following which his forehead gets brutally injured and started bleeding.
In the video footage, it can also be seen that women agitators present at the spot are also beating him.
