New Delhi: Vishwakarma Puja 2021 is celebrated on the day of ‘kanya sankranti’, according to the Hindu calendar.
Lord Vishwakarma, the son of Lord Brahma and 'chief architect of the world', is worshipped on ‘kanya sankranti’.
This auspicious day dedicated to the divine creator will be celebrated across the country on Friday.
According to the ‘panchang’, Vishwakarma Puja 2021 auspicious time for worship is from 6:07 a.m. on Friday to 3:36 p.m. on Saturday.
People must avoid offering the puja during the ‘rahu kaal’, which will begin from 10:30 a.m. and remain till 12 noon on Friday.
Everybody associated with creation and related equipment, besides others, worship Lord Vishwakarma to ward off negative energies from the workspace.

An idol of Lord Vishwakarma is set up in factories, mills and workshops.
Everyone, including architects, carpenters, engineers, mechanics, sculptors, artisans, craftsmen, mechanics, smiths, welders and industrial and factory workers, also organise special pujas to honour the lord so that He blesses them with accomplishment in their respective businesses.
According to the Gregorian calendar, the festival usually falls around mid-September.
Vishwakarma Puja festival is celebrated in several states, including Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Tripura. The festival is also celebrated in the neighbouring country Nepal.
On this day, prayers are also offered to Lord Ganesha and Lord Vishnu.
Before offering the puja, one should clean the prayer room, and then take a wooden chowki and cover it with a yellow cloth. Idols of Ganesha, Vishnu, and Vishwakarma are to be kept on it. It is then time to offer prayers to Lord Ganesh, and apply kumkum tilak on the idols. Devotees thereafter offer flowers and incense, besides bhog of sweets or cooked pure vegetarian dishes. Finally, do the aarti and pray for blessings.
