Indian cricket star Virat Kohli recently provided a tour of his Alibaug holiday home, highlighting the importance of relaxation and family connections in its design. Located in the coastal town south of Mumbai, the house aims to create a home away from home experience for Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma.

During the tour, Kohli emphasised the deliberate absence of a television or other distractions in the living room, reserving the space exclusively for meaningful conversations. Expressing the significance of shared meals, he mentioned, "I really value and cherish having meals together as a family. To be very honest, I did not do enough of that as a kid myself," while showcasing the dining room.

The cricketer, known for his busy schedule, revealed that Alibaug provides an escape from the hectic outside world, allowing him to prioritise family time. Despite his commitment to a strict diet and training routine, he admitted to enjoying the tranquility of Alibaug, often spending quality moments with his pet dog.

Kohli expressed his preference for the outdoors in the house, highlighting its Californian Konkan-style architecture spread over a 10,000-square-foot plot. Architectural Digest India notes the use of natural materials like pristine stones, Italian marbles, travertines, and Turkish limestones, creating a villa that celebrates "raw luxury" with an integration of biophilic principles.

While Kohli acknowledged the constant demands of his cricketing career, he stressed the importance of balancing work and family life. "A home is an extension of one’s personality," he concluded. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, married since 2017 and parents to daughter Vamika, find solace in their Alibaug abode, where simplicity and family take center stage.
