New Delhi: Indian- Canadian Tiktok star and social media influencer Megha Thakur passed away on November 24. She was just 21 years old. The news of her death was shared by her parents on social media. In an Instagram post from her profile, her parents said, "It is with heavy hearts we announce the light of our life, our kind, caring, and beautiful daughter, Megha Thakur, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on November 24, 2022, in the early morning hours."
Her Instagram account had 103K followers while on Tiktok she had more than 930K followers. Megha was known for promoting body positivity and also often shared her dance videos.
In the post, her parents were deeply saddened by the sudden demise of Megha and described her as a confident and independent young lady. Her parents said, "Megha was a confident and independent young woman. She will be dearly missed. She loved her fans and would have wanted you to know of her passing. At this time, we request your blessings for Megha. Your thoughts and prayers will be with her in her onward journey."
Her fans and followers were shocked by the news and shared condolences in the comments section. One of the users wrote, "My dearest Megha, this is absolutely devastating. She started using TikTok not long after enrolling in college. She frequently made comparisons to well-known celebrities in her videos, including Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner.
