A wedding is a very big day in anybody's life. With the wedding, immense pressure comes on the person to look their best on their big day. Sometimes out of anxiety or out of peer pressure, one tends to go for any treatment recommended by any or every person randomly.
"These random experiments often include chemical peels, bleach, hair straightening, rebonding, and even cosmetic laser treatments. In short, intense chemical exposure," Medha Singh, an expert in the field of Ayurveda said in an interaction with ABP Live.
Any chemical treatment is short-lived as the body will always come back to its baseline even more rigorously causing more damage than initially perceived like pigmentation, skin thinning, burning, and whatnot. These lead to pigmentation, increased acne, increased open pores, increased dryness, weekend hair, split ends, dry hair, and other such almost irreparable damages.
"Your appearance is actually dependent on your overall inner health. The chemicals on your face or on your hair are absorbed by your body which causes other health problems because the skin is a semi-permeable membrane. Alongside, the skin gets damaged to the extent that your pores start appearing and makeup(again harsh cosmetics in most cases) deposits in them thus making them clogged," she added.
"You must be very familiar with complaints coming from clients that their makeup was cakey and bakey but little do they realise that the skin is the canvas for the makeup and it's very important to prepare it before doing the makeup. If the base is perfect, you can apply any makeup fearlessly and be bold enough to stand makeup less the next day," Megha said.
The magic/key lies in preparing your skin from the inside and not the outside. Makeup is a temporary thing while Skin Care is an ongoing process so the brides-to-be must always invest carefully in skin care products.
They should be wise enough to choose what is best for their skin and what is the most natural beauty product that will be compatible with their skin type. "There is unlimited information present on the internet on how to do makeup but very few people will tell you the importance of taking care of the skin for that flawless makeup look on your wedding day."
"In Ayurveda, we believe that inner wellness is the key to outer well-being as well. Hence we emphasize on improving/making lifestyle changes involving a good sleep cycle, good eating habits, and a non-sedentary lifestyle. Ayurvedic cosmetics are nothing but a way to enhance your natural beauty without harming you in any way and increasing the effects of a disciplined lifestyle, so, stay natural, as much as possible because natural beauty lasts forever," she said.
