Sushmita Sen has always been candid about her personal life and the lessons that Miss Universe and her career in films have taught her. Being born in a family where her father was in the Air Force, Sushmita had the privilege of living almost all around the country, thus having learnt to appreciate different cultures and food. Being a foodie, Sushmita loves to eat but does not like experimenting much, until she is recommended something by her family or friends.

Sen, being a Bengali, loves her traditional cuisine, especially seafood. Talking about her favourite Bengali food items, Sushmita Sen told Curly Tales that she loves fish in all forms, except fried. Delving into details, she said, "Maach with shorshe baata (which is mustard paste). I am also very fond of mishti doi and sandesh, but the one which is made with gud (jaggery)- nolen gur and not the sugar one."

She then spoke about the grooming sessions she had at Miss Universe saying that it was a school mentioning she didn't learn table manners before going for Miss Universe but learnt them after winning it.

Table Manners Taught By Sushmita Sen:

Coming to table manners, Sushmita shared what her grooming teacher Miss Ciao taught her, jokingly mentioning that if anyone is attending an official party, that person should eat well from home and attend it.

"One of the things that I learnt was ‘Pet bhar ke kha ke jaao ghar se, taki waha pe jaake khana khane ki utsukta nahi hogi [Eat well at home and then go for an official dinner, so that you won't feel the urge to eat there].' Then you can elegantly say, ‘No more, thank you', and they will assume you follow a strict diet," Curly Tales quotes her as saying.

The second tip that she shared was, "If you don't know what to do, wait! Somebody else will start and you just follow them."

Sharing a few more minor tips, Sen said, "We should not make noises with our cutlery while eating or put our elbow on the table."

While she was sharing these tips, she jokingly added that amidst so many dos and don'ts the taste of the food goes away. So, the best rule to remember is "Ghar se khaana khaa ke jaao"

As the conversation flowed Sen talked about her love for eating with her hands although she is very good with cutlery.
