Sabyasachi Mukherjee is a well-known name in the fashion world, having managed to build his own empire over the years. Sabyasachi is well-known for his bridal couture, and he has created wedding gowns for Bollywood celebs such as Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra, among others.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee took to Instagram on December 23, to announce a new line of Indian tote bags. The large-sized bags featured gorgeous designs that paid respect to the designer's Indian heritage. The designer was overjoyed to introduce this tote bag to the Sabyasachi accessory line. Along with the photos, he included a note that reads:

“The wisdom and beauty of India lies at the cusp of memory and modernity. It’s what drives me to make by hand, ignore trend, conserve endangered crafts and create a living heritage that can be passed down from one generation to the next.”

Sabyasachi Mukherjee's Indian tote bag highlights India's tremendous legacy of cultural crafts and textiles. The designer earned a lot of praise for his new release, and people adore the bag, which was manufactured without harming animals. However, Sabyasachi's new line of Indian tote bags did not sit well with certain netizens, who began ridiculing him for it.

The majority of people did not like these huge bags. Most people were put off by the enormous size, both in terms of beauty and practicality. “It's beautiful and intricate designs but wtf is with the size???? This is madness. Designers are going way overboard with the idea of outside thinking that the box doesn’t even exist."

Another joked about the bag's size, adding, "Finally, a bag that can fit my overthinking."

Others have remarked on the tote bag's boat-like design, claiming that it could fit an entire boat inside. Some commenters saw parallels between the unpleasant usage of waste bags in fashion by Balenciaga.

When Mouni Roy married her boyfriend, Suraj Nambiar, in January 2022, she wore a Sabyasachi lehenga on her wedding day. Sabyasachi Mukherjee's official page had also released a series of photos of Mouni Roy in her bridal attire. However, some admirers were dissatisfied with Mouni's bridal look during her Bengali wedding, and they turned to the post's comment section to mock Sabyasachi Mukherjee's designs. Some have labelled him "lazy," while others have said that he is no longer innovative.

When it comes to Sabyasachi Mukherjee's profession, he launched his products in 1999 and hasn't looked back since. Because of his extraordinary talents, he was chosen as one of the Fashion Design Council of India's Associate Designer Members. Sabyasachi is also one of the National Museum of Indian Cinema's youngest members, having designed costumes for films such as Black, Guzaarish, Raavan, English Vinglish, and many others.
