New Delhi: A coaching institute in Rajasthan’s Sikar has gifted a dazzling BMW 1-series to Tanmaya Shekhawat, for securing the 11th position in the IIT-Joint Entrance Exam (Advanced) which is considered as the most difficult entrance exam for engineering, that opens doorway to the top technical institutes of the country.
According to the sources, the director of the Samarpan coaching institute Dr RL Poonia had announced ahead of the exams, to give away his BMW to the one who ranks under 20 in the IIT-JEE advanced.
This was initially done to motivate the students. But, to everyone’s surprise Poonia kept his promise and handed over the keys of the German-made beauty to Tanmaya, who aspires to be a software engineer.
The car costs around 30 lakhs, and was brought two years ago by director of the institute. The vehicle has been driven close to 1,500 km since its purchase.
It is the first time in the history of the state that such an expensive gift has been rewarded to any student for doing well in IIT-JEE entrance exam.
