Worshiping Maa Shailputri, the first manifestations of Maa Durga contributed to increasing an individual's wealth, possessions, governance, ornaments, improved decision-making, and more. It is also said to reduce diseases related to the eyes, blood, stomach, phlegm, alimentary canal, and epilepsy.

Today's colour of significance is Grey as it refers to the quality of the destruction of evil.

Kalash Sthapana Shubh Muhurat


The Auspicious Mahurat of Kalash Sthapana is between 6:23 AM to 10:12 AM. One can also choose the Abhijit Muhurat which is between 11:43 AM to 12:29 PM.

Rituals For Puja


Remember/invoke Maa Shailputri after placing the Kalash. Offer Sindoor, flowers, incense, akshat (rice), myrrh, etc to Goddess Durga. You can recite Durga Chalisa after that. It is said that the worship of Mata Shailputri should be done only by lighting a lamp filled with camphor or cow's ghee.

Bhog


The first day of Navratri should begin with the 'Halwa-puri' bhog/offering. Devotees also offer batashe, pan and kaale chane to Maa Shailputri. Some people also make churma and mewa laddoo for bhog.
