Met Gala 2023: Isha Ambani Ditches Traditional Gown In Favour Of A Reimagined Saree

Isha Ambani wowed in a stunning black satin saree gown embellished with thousands of crystals and pearls and adorned with a silk chiffon train.

Celebrities walked the iconic Met Museum stairs to celebrate fashion's biggest night, the Met Gala 2023. Among the Indian celebrities who attended the ball was businesswoman and arts patron Isha Ambani, who walked the world's largest red carpet. Isha, like Alia Bhatt, was dressed in a piece by Nepalese-American designer and longtime collaborator Prabal Gurung. DECODING ISHA AMBANI'S GOWN-SAREE LOOK FOR MET GALA 2023: 

Isha Ambani walked the Met Gala red carpet as Prabal Gurung's muse on Monday (Tuesday IST). Isha, who was styled by Priyanka Kapadia, adhered to this year's Met Gala dress code: 'In Honour of Karl Lagerfeld'. The businesswoman wowed in a stunning black satin saree gown embellished with thousands of crystals and pearls and adorned with a silk chiffon train. A one-shoulder neckline, thousands of shimmering crystal and pearl embellishments, a pallu draped on one side and extending to form a floor-sweeping train, symmetrical pleats on the front, and a figure-skimming silhouette define Isha Ambani's reimagined saree. Finally, a silk chiffon train adorned on the back completed Isha's elegant look.

Isha wore Lorraine Schwartz jewellery, which included a layered diamond choker necklace, a dainty palm bracelet, a diamond and emerald ring, and tear-drop earrings. The look was completed with a Chanel vintage doll bag and high heels. To finish off the glam look, Isha chose centre-parted open wavy locks, a nude lip shade, rouged cheekbones, beaming highlighter, minimal eye shadow, and a dewy base.

This year's Met Gala has a strong desi representation. In addition to Isha Ambani, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Natasha Poonawalla attended this year's grand fashion event.
