New Delhi: Google has released its Year In Search Report for 2022, which offers an intriguing look at the momentous year that is about to come to an end. Every year, Google releases a list of the top searches made globally and by country. It was found that the recipe for banana bread was one of the most sought-after recipes.
Banana bread is one of the recipes that anyone can quickly and easily make at home using mashed bananas. It is soft, moist, and delightfully sweet. It can also be made in different variations such as Banana nut bread, chocolate banana bread, vegan banana bread, and banana raisin bread.
As Christmas is approaching, let's go through the recipe once again so that you can add it to your Christmas menu as well.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 stick of unsalted butter at room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 325 F.
- Butter a loaf pan.
- In a sizable mixing bowl, combine the sugar and butter and beat until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs gradually- one at a time and continue beating the mixture after each egg is added.
- Use a fork to mash the bananas in a small bowl. Cinnamon and milk are combined along with them.
- The dry ingredients like salt, baking soda, baking powder, and flour are taken and combined in a separate bowl.
- Once this is done, add the mixture of the wet ingredients to it and keep stirring just enough to combine the dry ingredients so that the flour is gone.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
- Set aside to cool for 15 minutes. The bread can then be taken out of the pan and cut into slices for serving.
Tips To Be Kept In Mind While Making Banana Bread:
- Use only ripe bananas. The flavour of the bread will improve as they become darker on the outside.
- Thoroughly mash the bananas to ensure equitable distribution of the flavour.
- Use whole wheat flour for a thicker loaf and refined flour for a lighter cake.
- Brown sugar has a deeper flavour than white sugar, so use it instead.
- Avoid over-mixing the flour and always combine the wet components before the dry ones.
- Use butter for thick cake-like bread and oil for soft, more moist bread.
- Always bake at no more than 180C in a loaf pan that has been generously oiled.
